Hours of Operation
About this Location
July is finally here, and we have some big news regarding our operations! That’s right, after four long months of 100% virtual operations, the USO Fort Hood Pathfinder team is making moves back to office. We will do so gradually, as to continue to protect all visitors, staff, and USO Volunteers. We will be circulating each team member individually through the office beginning July 6th, Monday - Friday. Office hours will be from 1000 – 1600 to allow for additional cleaning time. All visitors are asked to wear a mask and continue to follow social distancing guidelines. Although these new protocols may not be what we are used to, we are extremely excited to be getting back to seeing everyone again. If you need to set up any face-to-face meetings with your individual transition specialist, you may reach out to them to coordinate a time and date. If you know any transitioning service member, veteran, or military spouse that is in need of transition assistance they can visit uso.org/pathfinder or email the USO Fort Hood Pathfinder Site Manager Kristen Rheinlander firstname.lastname@example.org or after July 6th they may stop by the USO at Bldg. 121 and, 761st Tank Battalion Ave during office hours.
The Pathfinder Program is a one-stop shop of transition services information, working alongside SFL-TAP, as we are not a mandatory program but rather one designed to enhance support to service members throughout their transition. We provide support in 8 different areas; Employment, Education, Financial readiness, VA benefits, Housing, Legal, Family Support, and Volunteerism.
Here at USO Fort Hood, the Pathfinder Program has three case managers, “Scouts,” that sit down one on one with the transitioning service member to develop an individualized plan for their transition. We work with them on an individual basis 12 months prior to 12 months post their transition, serving ANY discharge type. We serve Military Spouses at any point in their sponsor’s Active Duty, Retired or Veteran Status. There is not a timeframe to serve Military Spouses as they are always in a period of transition. The Scouts follow the soldier throughout their transition, following up with them weekly, engaging them with upcoming events, job fairs, etc. They truly are their personalized transition services point of contact.
