About this Location

Together We Serve: Supporting Soldiers and Their Families

For service members stationed stateside, the USO is more than a place to relax, it’s a place to belong.

Many people think of the USO as simply a recreation center, but for soldiers at Fort Hood, it has become something much deeper: a home away from home, a welcoming refuge, and a source of connection during the demands of military life.

Between long training days, time away from loved ones, and the constant pressures of service, having a supportive space can make all the difference. At the USO, soldiers can pause, recharge, and connect with others, whether through a warm cup of coffee, a friendly conversation, or a moment of laughter in the middle of a busy day.

As units prepare for deployment, we stand beside them every step of the way, offering resources, encouragement, and comfort during times of transition. We help send service members off knowing they are supported both at home and overseas.

We also remain committed to the families who stay behind. Through programs, special events, and everyday connections, we help build a strong support network for spouses and children navigating the challenges of separation. Our goal is to provide reassurance, create community, and ensure families feel seen, supported, and connected.

What truly sets the USO apart is the people behind it. Our volunteers and staff work tirelessly to create an environment rooted in compassion, respect, and genuine care. It’s a place where friendships are formed, milestones are celebrated, and no one feels alone.

Here, we are more than a center, we are a community, a support system, and a daily reminder that service members and their families are valued every single day.
