About this Location
The USO Fort Hood opened in 2001 in a small location in the Rivers Building, as the first USO on an U.S. Military installation. Less than a month later, 9/11 changed the nature of American and military life alike. When Fort Hoods’ Soldiers began deploying in 2003, the USO began providing snacks and other services for every outbound and inbound flight, as well as for families at homecoming ceremonies.
Since then, the USO has expanded its footprint in the former River’s Building and continued its mission to serve. On average, 8,000+ soldiers and their families visit the center each month.
Today we contribute to Fort Hoods’ military community through our center amenities and programs that support our service members and their families.
